    Last night, we awarded a $1 million grand prize to Rebecca Strong from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the winner of Canada's Got Talent Season 3. This is the biggest cash prize in Canadian television history. Rogers is proud to support great Canadian talent – last year alone we contributed ˜$950 million to Canadian content and produced over 12,700 hours of unique Canadian programming.

    We’re delighted to welcome three distinguished Canadians to our Board of Directors. Diane Kazarian, FCPA, FCA, CPA(US), ICD.D, GCB.D, Chief Wayne Sparrow (yəχʷyaχʷələq) and John Tory were elected to the Board at the company’s Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders this week. Together, they come from varied backgrounds and bring diverse perspectives, including leadership in accounting, financial reporting and risk management, economic reconciliation, and operational and governance experience at the company.

    Today we hosted our Annual and Special Meeting at our incredible Sportsnet Studio in Toronto. During the meeting, our Board Chair Edward Rogers and our President and CEO Tony Staffieri highlighted how the company delivered industry-leading results, completed an industry-leading merger, and drove industry-leading innovation. We also announced our new 10-year agreement with Comcast that will change the way Canadians connect and experience entertainment.

At Rogers, we’re committed to environmental stewardship and are taking action to decrease our carbon footprint. Electronic recycling is a key part of this commitment. Last year we diverted millions of electronic devices and other materials from landfills.
